Counselling

Our free counselling service is an opportunity for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive and confidential setting. Our trainee counsellors are here to help you through this process without judgement or giving advice.

Your counsellor will be impartial but understanding. They will listen to you and help you explore your thoughts and emotions. They may offer information, but they won’t tell you what you should think or do. They will not give you their opinions or prescribe medication.

Your counsellor will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.

They will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems.

How it works:

1. If you are a registered carer please contact our helpline on 0161 848 2400 option 1 to be assigned a counsellor. Please note that there is a waiting list for our counselling service.

2. A counsellor will contact you to arrange a date, time and place that suits you. We offer face to face sessions at one of the venues listed below:

  • Trafford Carers Centre [9 Springfield Road, Sale]- Available Monday-Friday
  • Trafford Creative Support [3 Washway Road, Sale]- Available Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am-3pm
