Monday Carers Gardening Group

Date/Time: Mondays from 10:00am-1:00pm

Venue: Gorse Hill Community Allotment

Event Summary: An opportunity to grow a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables over two allotment plots. Perfect for people who want some fresh air and don’t mind getting a bit dirty. If it is raining, the group will play board games.

Monday Art Group

Date/Time: Mondays from 10:00am-12:30pm

Venue: St. Matthew's Hall, Chapel Lane, Stretford, M32 9AJ

Event Summary: Using different medias like acrylic and watercolour to produce amazing art on canvas. You don't have to be Picasso to join in, all abilities welcome. The group is led by a former Carer, an accomplished artist, who enjoys meeting with other Carers to take time to create their artwork. You can always commission one of our artists to paint your or a loved one’s portrait.

Monday Singing For Fun

Walking Groups with MileShyClub

Event Summary: Join Jane from Mile Shy Club for an easy going, gentle walk of around 1 mile’ with the opportunity of meeting in a cafe afterwards. This is free for carers.

Event Summary: For those who have an interest in family history, or just want to socialise with different people.

Wednesday Flower Arranging

Event Summary: Create some beautiful bouquets of flowers, garlands and wreaths to decorate your home or to give as a lovely present.

Wednesday Genealogy Group

Date/Time: 1st and 2nd Wednesday of the month, 1pm-3pm

Event Summary: Learn more about your own ancestry by using the Ancestry Site for free, discuss and discover with the group.

Wednesday Hospital Support Group

Date/Time: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the Month from 10:30am-12pm

Venue: Bevan's Restaurant, Trafford General, Moorside Road, M41 5SL

Event Summary: Join our Project Coordinator: Supporting Carers in Hospital, to help her improve the discharge process for carers and to help support carers who are looking after someone within the hospital or in the surrounding area.

Thursday Chatty Café

Date/Time: 3rd Thursday of the month from 10:00am-12:00pm

Venue: The Life Centre 235 Washway Road, Sale, M33 4BP

Event Summary: On the 3rd Thursday of the month, grab yourself a free cake and coffee. Available for all registered carers to sit down, relax and meet some new people. We are a very friendly bunch of people and will also welcome the people you care for. There is parking behind the building and public transport links are nearby.

Thursday Knit and Natter

Date/Time: 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month 11:30am-1:30pm

Venue: Café in the Park (Activity Room), 40 Mayors Rd, Altrincham, WA15 9RP

Event Summary: Call yourself an expert knitter? Or are you interested in trying something new? Then come to our new knitting group! You know what they say, laughter isn't the best medicine, knitting is, it leaves you in stitches!

Thursday Bereavement Support Drop-In

Date and Time: The Last Thursday of the month 10:00am-11:30am [ please note, there will be no group in December]

Venue: Fiona Gardens, Atkinson Rd, Sale

Summary: Grief affects people differently, but this group makes sure that all bereaved people are supported. It is a drop in, so people can come and go as they please. There will be a loose topic to speak about. It doesn't matter how long you have been bereaved for, if you feel you need the support you're welcome. The weekly topics are within the groups and events calendar.

Thursdays Autism Drop in for Carers who look after someone with autism.

Date/Time: 2nd Thursday of the month [apart from in August]

Venue: Salvation Army, 27 Ashton Lane, Sale, M33 6NP

Event Summary: You can speak to one of our caseworkers about how we can support you to care for the person with autism.

Friday Craft Group

Date/Time: 10:00am-12:30pm on Fridays

Venue: Urmston Library, Unit 34, Golden Way, Urmston, M41 0NA

Event Summary: A great opportunity to learn some new skills and produce some beautiful hand-crafted items.

Friday Yoga (Postponed)

Event Summary: Join Claire for a relaxing 45 minute gentle yoga session via zoom. Please have a firm pillow and blanket handy to make a home made bolster. The class is open to all carers and modifications for those with health conditions will be made.

Please note, we have had to limit this session to 15 attendees so Claire is able to view attendees on screen. As such, we will admit the first 15 carers waiting.

Carer Meditation Vouchers

Meditation Vouchers are available for our registered carers.

Date / Time: The voucher can be used once a week at any of the following times:

Tuesday 7.30pm - 8pm

Wednesday 12.45pm - 1.10pm

Thursday 7.30pm - 8 pm

Event Summary: The voucher allows weekly access to to meditation sessions at The Hope Centre, Hampden Rd, Sale, M33 7UB at any of the following times: Tuesday and Thursdays 7.30-8pm or Wednesdays 12.45pm – 1.10pm. Please email info@traffordcarerscentre.org.uk to request your voucher.

Carer Drop-ins around Trafford

Our Caseworkers are available around Trafford to provide support if you are unable to make it into our office in Sale and want to speak to someone face to face.

Mondays

Every Monday a caseworker will be at Blue Sci, Partington from 10:30am-12:30pm.

Tuesdays

The 3rd Tuesday of the month a caseworker will be available at Stretford Public Hall from 10:00am-12:00pm.

Meet our Project Coordinator: Hospital Support Worker at Trafford General at the Acute Medical Unit Ward from 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Wednesday

Every Wednesday a caseworker will be at The Hub, Pownall Road, Altringham, WA14 2SZ from 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Thursday

The 2nd Thursday of the month a caseworker will be at Stretford Public Hall from 12:30pm-2:00pm.

The 2nd Thursday of the month a caseworker will be at Salvation Army from 1:00pm-3:00pm specifically for people caring for someone with autism.

The first three Thursdays of the month a caseworker will be at Age UK Urmston from 11:00am-12:30pm.

The 4th Thursday of the month a caseworker will be at The Hub in Hale from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
