Carers Week 2026

Trafford Carers Centre has partnered with a range of local organisations to deliver an engaging programme of activities for Carers Week 2026. The initiative aims to recognise and support unpaid carers by providing opportunities to connect with others, take time for wellbeing, and access valuable information and local services. The programme will include a variety of events and sessions designed to promote relaxation, social interaction, and practical support within the community.

Vegetarian For Life Cooking Courses

A 2 hour cooking course cooking 2 dishes for you to take away

ForgetMeNot Club Crafting Event

A relaxed evening crafting session at Coppice Library and Wellbeing Centre, where carers can learn crochet and embroidery while creating their own decorative pieces. This session offers a mindful, hands-on activity that supports wellbeing through focus and creativity, while also giving carers the opportunity to socialise, learn new skills and take home something they’ve made themselves

Our Sale West Afternoon Tea

A special “Carers Treat” afternoon tea at Sunshine Café, Sale West Community Centre. Carers can enjoy a free afternoon tea either on their own or with a friend, along with a gift bag to take away. The session is designed to offer carers a moment of rest, relaxation and a chance to feel appreciated and pampered.

Living Well in Later life Health Brains Project

An interactive session focused on maintaining brain health and wellbeing in later life. Carers will take part in practical activities and discussions designed to support cognitive wellbeing, learn new techniques, and gain useful tools they can apply in everyday life.

Pottery Workshop Clay Studios

A 2.5-hour pottery workshop at Community Clay Studios in Stretford, where carers will create their own handmade mug. The session encourages mindfulness through slow, tactile work with clay, helping carers switch off from daily pressures while learning a new skill. Finished pieces will be kiln-fired and ready to collect after the event

String of Hearts Music Session

A welcoming, inclusive music-making session led by professional musicians, designed especially for carers. This taster session invites both new and existing participants to explore music in a relaxed environment, with opportunities to join in at their own pace. The session also creates space for carers to share their experiences and help shape future activities.

Book Club Evening

A cosy evening book club hosted in a local bookshop, where carers will receive a free book to read ahead of the session. The event encourages carers to take time for themselves through reading, before coming together to discuss and connect with others in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Creative Mojo Manchester West

A series of online and in person creative wellbeing sessions, including mindful drawing, stress reduction, sleep support and creative exercises based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing. Designed to be simple and accessible, these sessions use everyday materials and offer carers practical tools they can easily build into their daily routines to support their wellbeing.
