Young reporters capture Christmas spirit in Sale in an interview with Santa

On what was their very first assignment, our group of young Lightning Bee reporters headed out across Sale to find out how much Christmas spirit the town was in.
Implementing new skills learnt on their project with Media Cubs, the team bravely quizzed people in the street about their favourite festive films and songs… even getting a hilarious rendition of Wham’s Last Christmas by the ladies from the local ‘Wardrobe 65’ shop!
What’s more, they even managed to visit Santa’s grotto and get an interview with the big man himself… and of course, were sure to grab a quick ride on the sleigh!
Devan Storey, our Digital Inclusion Officer, said: “It was unbelievable that the young people managed to create this video together even though they were new to reporting.
“They stopped at nothing to gather their content and interviews, displaying such confidence and determination to try new things. They should be really proud of this work.”
