Many of the people using your services may be supporting someone who, due to illness, disability, frailty or old age, could not cope without them. Carer’s lives are often hectic and stressful, and this can have an impact on their ability to access services. Trafford Carers Centre supports these carers, but we can also support you. We can provide training to help you and your team recognise when a client may also be a carer, and provide you with information and resources to help you support them.
This leaflet describes the information that can and can not be shared with carers about their cared for. Often hospitals (especially with mental health) staff are nervous to give out any information as they are afraid of breaking confidentiality. Attached is a link for a document that gives carers and professionals all the information on what is appropriate / important to share with carers.
