HW leave-your-feedback button (1)Health and Social Care consumer champion Healthwatch Trafford have provided all Trafford GP surgeries with the ability to place a clickable Patient Feedback Centre on their websites, allowing their patients to leave feedback on the Surgery directly through their own website. This takes the form of a ‘widget’ that is embedded into the website and all GP practices in Trafford have now been sent a unique code enabling them to do this.

This is an extension of the Feedback Centre that is currently available through Healthwatch Trafford’s website, which lists all health and social care providers in Trafford and gives patients the ability to leave feedback about those services. Residents are also able to leave comments on hospitals outside Trafford that are widely used by Trafford residents, such as Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe Hospital.

The data gathered will be made available to the GP Surgeries and other stakeholders such as Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group (TCCG) as well as published locally.

Healthwatch Trafford Chief Officer Andrew Latham said:

HW Tablet rating 450x300“This is an opportunity for GPs, as well as providers and commissioners of other health and social care services in Trafford to hear what people think of the services they provide. By encouraging their patients and customers to leave feedback about a service, providers can find out where the public think they are doing well and also where improvements can made. We hope that this will facilitate an exchange of information not only between patients and providers but also between commissioners and providers, where best practice can be identified and shared and where problems highlighted can be addressed and resolved.

For Healthwatch, feedback can help to provide an overall picture of how services are being delivered to the residents of Trafford. We have worked hard at establishing links with local commissioners and providers and by sharing the information gathered with them we hope that this can act as a catalyst to positive change. We would therefore encourage all residents to tell us about their experiences of accessing health and social care services, whether this be their local GP, pharmacy, dentist or hospital, homecare or the care that they or a relative receive in a care home.

We know that health and social care providers in Trafford strive to provide the best possible experience for their patients and customers, a vision that is shared by those at Healthwatch Trafford. The Feedback centre provides us with a unique opportunity to work together to help achieve this, and we look forward to working together in the future to make a real difference to local patients.”
