Events and Meetings

The Centre runs a number of groups and has different activities taking place throughout the year. We run a number of carers forums that help carers to influence the development of services. You can contact the Centre and asked to be placed on the mailing list for minutes of these meetings.

- Learning Disabilities Subgroup

- Mental Health Forum and Get Togethers

- Carers Information Events

- Centre Information Talks

Learning Disabilities Subgroup

This group meets once a month from 1 to 3pm and is for anyone caring for an adult with learning disabilities. Each month we concentrate on a different topic that is chosen by carers and invite a speaker to answer our questions. This subgroup provides feedback to the local Partnership Board, which is made up of representatives for all learning disability organisations in Trafford.
Venue: Salvation Army Halls, Sale.

Mental Health Forum and Get Togethers

This group meets monthly to look at how services should be developed in mental health. We also hold get togethers and pamper days with a more social focus. These are for anyone caring for someone with a condition like schizophrenia or manic depression in Trafford. One in every three meetings is a forum meeting looking at local issues and service developments for carers of adults with a mental health need.
Venue: Holy Cross Church, Park Road, Timperley.

Carers Information Events

Each year we hold two major events in Trafford during carers week in June and in December near to Carers Rights Day. These events are extremely well attended and usually have a mix of fun, food, information and other activities.

We also hold events for carers every month. This could be a pub lunch, coffee afternoon, health walk or a field trip! To find out what events are taking place, sign up to receive our Newsletter, which advertises future events.

Centre Information Talks

Once a month we hold a talk at our Centre for anyone who is interested in learning more about our services.
Venue: Trafford Carers Centre
